Helping students reconnect with learning — and themselves.
I’m a highly experienced SEN teacher, tutor, and life coach who specialises in supporting students who’ve felt misunderstood, disengaged, or let down by traditional education. My sessions are grounded in trust, humour, and real human connection — because meaningful progress starts with feeling safe, seen, and supported.
I use warmth, mindset coaching, and inspirational dialogue to create a space where students feel safe to be themselves — and start to enjoy learning again.
I cover the full Key Stage 3 curriculum, most of Key Stage 4, and Functional Skills in Maths and English to support college entry and future pathways. But I’m not rigid about it — my lessons are tailored to each student’s interests, needs, and pace. If a young person connects better through sport, gaming, or real-world scenarios, I’ll build the learning around that. The goal is progress, not perfection — and that means meeting students where they are, not where a textbook says they should be.
My approach is holistic. I incorporate exercise, coaching tools, and practical life strategies to support students beyond the classroom — helping them build resilience, self-awareness, and a sense of purpose. Because progress isn’t just academic — it’s personal.
I called my business “Role Model X as a nod to that extra something I feel I offer students. Academic work is only a part of what I do and I like to think that its all the other bits that make me stand out and allow me to build successful relationships with 100s of students and their families.
The X stands for the unknown — the student who’s been misunderstood, the path that doesn’t follow a straight line, the kind of progress you can’t measure with grades alone. It’s also a nod to the crossover: between education and coaching, curriculum and life skills, structure and personality.
I model something different. Not just how to learn, but how to think, reflect, and move forward with confidence. My sessions blend academic support with mindset coaching, fitness (if appropriate), and practical strategies — because real progress is personal, and every student deserves a role model who gets that.
Although working with school and college age students is my bread and butter, I also work with adults so please see the correct section for details.

I specialise in supporting students who’ve disengaged from education—often because the system didn’t fit. SEN needs aren’t solved by worksheets or quick fixes. Progress takes time, trust, and a tailored approach.
I use coaching tools, emotional insight, and structured tuition to reconnect students with learning. That means building rapport, understanding their strengths, and finding what actually works. I don’t just teach—I listen, adapt, and support the whole student.
I also work closely with families, offering practical advice to help navigate the challenges that come with SEN. Whether it’s managing school meetings, handling difficult behaviour, or simply knowing what’s normal, I provide clear, bespoke guidance that makes a difference.
This isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s real support—for real situations.
